Walk – The villages of Frieth, Fingest and Turville

Today I had a fabulous walk around the villages of Frieth, Fingest and Turville.

Start/end

Start in the village of Frieth (there is a small car park next to the village hall and school).

Description

The walk was a very pleasant 5 1/2 miles through the beautiful countryside of Buckinghamshire.

Directions

From there I headed out of the village and through the woods to Fingest.

This area is well known for it’s Red Kites and there are plenty of them to be seen on this walk.

From Fingest, I headed north before climbing up Turville Hill. On top of Turville Hill is Cobstone Mill, (privately owned) a windmill that has starred in several films including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

From Turville Hill there are wonderful views of Turville village and the surrounding countryside.

From Turville Hill I dropped down into Turville village and on to Skirmett. It definitely worth spending a little bit of time wandering round Turville village (the setting for The Vicar of Dibley).

From Skirmett I headed over to Goddards wood and then back to Frieth.

The walk took about 3 hours and was 5 1/2 miles long.

I am the Post Production Supervisor on the current series of Miss Marple that we are making for ITV.

The Director has used your still shot of the view over Turville Village in his cutting copy and has asked me to contact you about whether it would be possible to use this in the finished film. Do you think that this would be possible?

    Thanks

    Beverley
