Walk -St Agnes Head

St Agnes Head

Start/end

St Agnes Vicarage Road

Description

A short circular walk from St Agnes around St Agnes Beacon and on to St Agnes Head and round to Trevainance Cove and back to St Agnes.

This walk takes a few hours and can get muddy after (or during) rain. There are several styles on the route. Some cliffside paths so take care, especially when windy.

Nearest Refreshments/Toilets

St Agnes and at Trevaunance Cove (maybe seasonal).

Walk Directions

Starting from Vicarage Road in St Agnes, head past the St Agnes hotel on your left and take the first left. Take the next left and look for a footpath opposite the back of the hotel, passing a playground.

Follow the path as it turns left then ignore the path on the right.

Follow the path across the fields until you reach a road. Cross road with care and continue up the path opposite.

This takes you round the right hand side of St Agnes Beacon.

When you arrive at a road, cross with care and follow the road opposite for 150m.

Take the private road (but public footpath) on the left to take you down to the South West Coastal Path.

Turn right and pass through the Car Park and continue following the South West Coast Path past St Agnes Head

Continue past Newdowns Head, and on to Polberro Cove and then drop down to Trevaunance Cove.

Explore the beach here or stop off at Driftward Spars pub and restaurant for a drink and something to eat.

From here take the road on the right out of Trevaunance Cove (opposite Driftward Spars) and climb up until you reach a public footpath on the left signposted “The Village”.

Follow this path up the hill, past the remnants of an old tin mine, to reach a road. Turn left and follow the road back into St Agnes.
